Purchased by the current owner in Hawaii from Leroy Neiman. It was framed in Honolulu at Juniper Arts in 1970. The Leroy Neiman Papers, 1938-2005, held at The Smithsonian Archives of American Art contain a drawing done at Wimbledon of Rod Laver in 1970. An appraisal will be provided with the watercolor for a replacemenmt value of $16,000. Rod Laver is a well known Wimbledon legend who retired from tennis in 1975. |
