1885-1966 - Sculptor, born in St Paul, Minnesota, USA. He studied in New York City and Philadelphia, and attended the American Academy in Rome (1908–12), where he was greatly influenced by antique sculpture. He then returned to the USA, and became renowned for his bronze figurative sculptures, which drew heavily on Roman and Greek sources. His many important commissions include the gilded ‘Prometheus Fountain’ (1934) for the Rockefeller Center, New York City.
