ELLWOOD T RISK BIOGRAPHY
 
Art Brokerage: Born in 1964 - Inspired by the works of Sigmar Polke, Hunter S. Thompson, and William S. Burroughs, Ellwood T. Risk employs tools of destruction to create intriguing and iconic imagery. Referencing the near epidemic proportions of gun violence in America and tragedies within our school systems, these works reflect a basic moral vacuum and the incidental damage affecting contemporary society. A self-taught artist, Risk frequently experiments with epoxies and resin, while incorporating images of guns, targets and silhouettes into his work. A complicated narrative is often implicit in these multi-layered pieces.
