JOHN ALTOON BIOGRAPHY
Art Brokerage specialises in the original paintings of Contemporary artist John Altoon. 1925-1969 California artist John Altoon: - John Altoon was a major artist in Los Angeles and an influence on artist Ed Ruscha and the entire school of West Coast Artists. John Altoon was well known for his pencil and ink drawings (ca. 1950s-1960s), mostly contained in sketchbooks and tablets, as well as numerous loose sketches and several mixed-media works on board. Altoon - WWII Navy service in the Pacific. John Altoon was a friend and an influence on artist Ed Ruscha. John Altoon showed at the Ferus Gallery along with Ed Moses, Billy Al Bengston, Ed Ruscha, Craig Kauffman and Ed Keinholtz.
