MAX BAND BIOGRAPHY
 
Art Brokerage: (1900-1974) Max Band was a landscape artist born on Aug. 21, 1900 in Naumestis, Lithuania. Band studied at the Berlin Academy. He authored "History of Contemporary Art" in 1935. He studied in Berlin and lived in Paris for much of his life. Band took up residence in Hollywood in 1940 and was father to director Albert Band, grandfather to filmmaker Charles Band and great grandfather to singer/songwriter Alex Band. He died in California in 1974.
