RENE DE BROYER BIOGRAPHY
 
Art Brokerage: Rene de Broyer is best known for his extremely life-like sculptures and paintings of Marilyn Monroe. In 1983-1984 he created the sculpture that resembles a wax work statue of the iconic Hollywood starlet. Broyer worked for a time in a company that manufactured mannequins of famous people. Echoing the legendary subway scene in The Seven Year Itch, the artist represented in minute detail a sculpture of Marilyn, her clothes and her hairstyle. The work was exhibited in various unexpected placesc, including the Museum of Sex in Amsterdam and the Grevin Museum in Paris. He works in the district of Bempt near Brussels.
