B. 1954 - An ardent interest in the beauty of Koi and the diversity of their color has led Terry Gilecki to devote his artistic career to capturing their essence in his paintings. Born in 1954 in British Columbia, Gilecki received a diploma in Commercial Art in 1973. As the growing demand for Gilecki?s fine art increased, he realized that he had found his niche and now devotes himself fully to fine art. Gilecki?s art is achieved by first applying reactive mediums and applying modeling material for the texture. Gilecki then paints in acrylic, using a combination of airbrush, brush and scratching back techniques, as well as translucent, opaque and occasionally, metal powders for dimensional quality.
