Provenance: Seller was a personal friend to William Tolliver. They grew up together in Vicksburg MS. William personally painted this piece for the seller in 1970. The stream in this painting was one of their favorite childhood haunts. Certified by the Estate of William Tolliver and is his earliest known work in existence today.
