1925-1969 California artist John Altoon: - John Altoon was a major artist in Los Angeles and an influence on artist Ed Ruscha and the entire school of West Coast Artists.

John Altoon was well known for his pencil and ink drawings (ca. 1950s-1960s), mostly contained in sketchbooks and tablets, as well as numerous loose sketches and several mixed-media works on board.
