    Art Brokerage: Alfred Laliberte Canadian Artist: (Canadian/Quebec, 1878-1953): He was a very well known sculptor, painter and educator. He was born in Sainte-Elizabeth-de-Warwick, Quebec, Canada (about 100 miles from Montreal. His sculpture mediums were bronze, marble, plaster, terra cotta, wood and commemorative metals. His painting medium was oil. His subjects were portraits, historic figures, legends, French Canada, figures, nudes, rural life, genre, allegory, religion and commissioned monuments. His style was realism. Estimates of his total life's work differ between sources ranging from 700 to over 1,000 sculptures and from 200 to 500 paintings. Included in this is a famous series of 214 small bronzes, depicting different aspects of life in French Canada, completed between 1928 and 1932. His formal art education included classes at the Conseil des Arts et Manufacturers, Montreal, from 1896 to 1901; and at Ecole des Beaux Arts, Paris under Gabriel Jules Thomas and Jean Antoine Injalbert from 1902-1907. While in Paris he met Marc-Aurele de Foy Suzor-Cote who became a mentor and lifelong friend. His travels included return trips to Paris in 1910, 1917, and 1923. He was a professor at the Conseil des Arts et Manufacturers from 1907 to 1923, and at Ecole des Beaux Arts, Montreal from 1923 until his death. Listings wanted.
