Douglas Hofmann expertly combines his own methods of painting with the techniques of the old masters which Douglas learned from Joseph Sheppard at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where he received his bachelor of fine arts degree. The beautiful aura of light and atmosphere found in great Baroque paintings pervades the work. Hofmann gives meticulous attention to detail, and creates harmonious compositions with superbly balanced colours and shapes. He was born in Baltimore Maryland in 1945. Douglas's work have been exhibited in numerous group and one-man shows at prestigious galleries and museums in every major city in USA and Japan. Douglass Hoffman's lithographs have introduced Douglas' work to a wide range of collectors. Beautifully produced they are the epitome of fine art publishing, utilizing traditional methods to create original print of the highest standard. The rarity of Douglas' original paintings has meant that the only access to his work has been through such lithographs. He was formerly published by Circle Gallery.
