Art Brokerage: Gary Bukovnic American Artist: b. 1947. Gary Bukovnik was born in Cleveland Ohio and was educated at the Cleveland Institute of Art. In 1974, Gary moved to San Francisco where he has been active in community and civic organizations. Bukovnik's work is on the posters for the San Francisco Symphony and the Atlanta Symphony. Bukovnik is a painter of flowers. Bukovnik works primarily in watercolors creating magnified images of meticulous precision. In contrast to the watercolor medium, Bukovnik has also mastered the monotype. Bukovnik works on both simultaneously each one influencing and strenghtening the other. Bukovnik never uses photographs, prefering to compose the drawing directly on several sheets of paper from live models. His work is in the permanent collections of major museums and corporations in the United States, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; the Art Institute, Chicago; the Museum of Fine Arts Boston; the Metropolitan Museum in New York; AT and T and Neiman-Marcus and Time, Inc.
