    Art Brokerage: Jack Lestrade French Artist: b. 1932. Jack Lestrade was born in the province of Gascony in Southwestern France. In 1960 he emigrated to the U. S. and was drawn to Carmel by its natural beauty and settled down to devote himself to his art Lestrade was artistically mentored by the legendary Donald Teague, noted watercolorist, and inspired by yearly trips to France, Spain and Italy. He has exhibited at the prestigious Artists of America Show in Denver for over ten years and has been invited to show at both the National Academy of Design in New York and at the National Academy of Western Art. He is a member of the Santa Fe Watercolor Society and the Carmel art Association. "If the eye makes an artist, then observation is my artistic philosophy - to see and understand where one is, to respect people and places as they are, to try to keep situations free of complications, and to be an honest individual."
