Art Brokerage: Jacob Gildor Israeli Artist: b. 1948. Jacob Gildor is an Israeli artist, representative of the Surrealist movement in Israeli art and of the group of "Second Generation" of Holocaust survivors artists. He is a professional art advisor and consultant at Montefiore Auction House, Tel Aviv and MacDougall's Fine Art Auctions, London. Gildor resides, works, and creates in Tel Aviv. He studied law at the Tel Aviv University, and fine art at the Bat-Yam Institute for Plastic Arts from 1972-1974. He later studied under Prof. Ernst Fuchs in Austria. Jacob Gildor was a member of the Israeli Fantastic Art Group "Hexagon", from 1983 and a member of the Israeli Artists Association from 1972. In 1985 he was chosen to be the Israeli artist for art exchange with the city of Frankfurt, and in 1987 he also granted a year of working by the Israeli Ministry of Culture in the Cite des Arts, Paris. Jacob Gildor had over 150 solo and group exhibitions in museums and private galleries all over the world. His works are in private and public collections, and are also to be found in many auction houses such as Sotheby's- London, and Tel Aviv, Christie's -Amsterdam and London, Bloomsbury-London, Butterfield-San Francisco, Bonhams-London, Briest-Artcurial, Massol, Boisgirard-Paris, Koller, Eberhard-Zurich, Keselbach, Abigail-Budapest, Schwab-Mannheim, Venator Hanstein-Koln, Ketterer and Nagel in Germany, and in the Israeli auction houses. A retrospective of his works was held in 2009, in the Museum of Israeli Art, in Ramat-Gan ,accompanied by a publication of a 3-vol book on his works from 1960-2008. Jacob Gildor is also taking part in many art fairs all over the world: in London, Gent, Miami, New York, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Koln, Karlsruhe, Singapore, Hong-Kong, Budapest. In the last years Jacob Gildor is concentrating on his collages, which were exhibited in 2020 at Gallery "Hamisrad", in Tel Aviv with great success. Listings wanted.
