He first studied at the University of Cincinnati, The Boston Museum of Fine Arts School and the University of Ohio. His first exhibition was with fellow artist and co-collaborator, Claes Oldenburg in 1959. In the Dadais'st style, Jim Dine used mixed media and the ready-made to produce his paintings.
