Story / Additional Info : Purchased directly from Joseph Kinnebrew. Befriended the artist and saw him and his wife Ellen socially from time to time. Joe said that the inspiration for the strong diagonal motion (top right to bottom left) in the painting was Michaelangelo's image on the Sistine Chapel ceiling in which God stretches out his finger (down and to the left) creating Adam who is stretching his arm (up and to the right) towards God. Joe also said that his agent had discouraged him from painting in an abstract style because he was already known for his large flower paintings, and potential buyers would be put off by the change in style.
