Lelia Pissarro - France

Art Brokerage: Lelia Pissarro French Artist: Lelia Pissarro was born on July 27, 1963. Lelia Pissarro is the fourth generation of a family of artists. Her father is the artist H. Claude Pissarro and her grandfather was Paulemile Pissarro, the youngest son of the impressionist painter Camille Pissarro. Leila’s early years were spent with her grandparents in Normandy and she exhibited her first painting at the age of eleven at La jeune peinture in Paris. She studied with her grandfather and her father and later went to art school in Tours. The legacy continues through Lelia whose oils and pastels show the richness of texture and brightness of colour so typical of the Pissarro tradition. For a short time, she taught painting in Paris. She has exhibited in many cities in France, as well as in Israel, Switzerland, New York, Boston, and London. Lelia has formed L'Atelier, a group of French artists who meet regularly to work together.
