Lucio Ranucci
Art Brokerage: Lucio Ranucci Italian Artist: b. 1925. Lucio Ranucci a leading artist in the international art of the 19th century. At the age of twenty Ranucci moved first to Argentina, then to Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica and to the U.S. His cultural and artistic background formed mostly in Central America, where he was influenced by some of the greatest muralists, like David Alvaro Siqueiros, José Clemente Orozco and, most of all, Diego Rivera, the one to whom Ranucci was closer. With the prestigious invitations to the 1956 “São Paulo Art Biennial” and to the 1957 “Pan-American Painting Biennial” in Mexico he achieves a critical and commercial recognition which never left him since, at first in the US, then also in Europe. Many italian newspapers have dedicated an article to Ranucci, among them: Il Corriere della Sera, La Repubblica, Il Giornale, Il Messaggero, Il Popolo, Il Giorno, Paese Sera, Il Manifesto, L’Ora di Palermo, Arte, Interni.
