Art Brokerage: Maria Giudice Italian Artist: b. 1948. Maria Giudice was born in Niscemi (Caltanissetta), on the 28th of July, 1948. Sculptor, painter, ceramist, architectural designer of both interior design and furniture, she finished her studies at the State Institute of Art of Caltagirone, graduating in 1967. Maria Giudice contributes in her own personal way to the artistic activity of her husband, as his very exuberant and enterprising personal muse and sounding board. Even though freelance projects take up much of their time, they always find ways to cultivate their deepest passions of painting and sculptures. The Guidice's have participated several times at the National review of Ceramics at Caltagirone, winning first prize in 1976 (the winning work was given to the Friuli region since it depicted a tragic moment of the earthquake which hit that region), as well as other first, second and third prizes over the years. In 1999, in Staten Island, NY, they participated and won the first prize for a public building used as a showroom for new cars. Since 1991, after a trip to the United States and to places in the Caribbean, Maria and Filippo Giudice were inspired to create an artistic-cultural project called, Totem Among Signs & Virtual Reality. This is their way of communicating art as the universal language, and as such finally carrying out the desire to the place their city of Ragusa, a province in the deep south of Italy, in a rightful place among the artistic and cultural tourist circuits. The meeting of Maria and Filippo with the master Jelescu produced a solid moment in the culture of Iblea. Listings wanted by Art Brokerage.
