In the spring of 1972, Michael was off to the Fort Knox Armor School, for basic training with the Washington Army National Guard. Upon his return Michael was employed by the Walla Walla, Washington public school district, where he taught art. 1975 was milestone; Michael resigned his teaching position and opened the Maiden Foundry, his dream studio.
