William DeShazo - United States
Art Brokerage: William DeShazo American Artist: b. 1934. Park West - William DeShazo was born in New Mexico in 1934. As early as the age of seven, he began sketching images of the New Mexico and Arizona cattle ranches where he grew up, and as a teenager, joined the southwestern rodeo circuit, where he found employment at a bronc-and-bull rider. DeShazo left the desert as a young man, moving to Southern California to attend California Western University. Again, the young artist was lured by adventure, this time signing onto a commercial fishing boat out of the port of San Diego. Upon his return, William DeShazo received a formal education in art from the Laguna School of Fine Art, where he studied the glazing techniques of the old world masters. His work soon received tremendous acclaim as far away as Japan. In the years that followed, DeShazo's work has appeared in such magazines as Life, Sports Illustrated, Showbiz, Architectural Digest, Décor and Arizona Highways. Today, DeShazo's paintings can be found in galleries throughout the United States, England, Japan, and Europe. Original oils only. Painntings wanted by Art Brokerage.
