    Provenance / HistoryThis work is in part, a result of consciousness studies done in collaboration with neuroscientists. ... several concomitant theories in physics regarding the general idea of superposition of particles until they are observed (measured) causing the particle to be in wave function or as a particle...in other words the observation influences the matter state.....this fundamental idea coupled with recent proofs of non-locality suggest that consciousness exists as a basic glue of the universe....and likely outside of space time as well...all of matter has a degree of consciousness, making process painting a key to a metaphorical representation of consciousness. There is a growing number of artists collaborating with biologists, neuroscientists and physicists seeking deeper understanding of a "conscious" universe. 
    Story / Additional InfoThis painting has it roots in abstract expressionism, American action painting that dominated the post-war art world. The artist studied with Grace Hartigan and worked with Bill DeKooning and, during his early years in Manhattan came to know many of the first generation of the New York School including James Brooks, Sam Francis and Phil Guston. He has carried forward the innovations of abstract expressionism while adding a multi faceted unity of knowledge theory to it...collaboration with scientists informs the furthering of human capacity in the arts,
