    Story / Additional InfoFrom the last historic Discovery Space Shuttle Launch. This photo was shot before the last ever flight of the Discovery Space Shuttle before it was retired. Rodney was invited to photograph the launch and he was the only one to get this particular moment when the lights went on behind the Shuttle on the launch pad as all the other photojournalists had left shortly beforehand so he was the only one there. One of these is in the Smithsonian Collection where the actual Space Shuttle now lives in retirement.
