Art Brokerage: Chuck Vannatta American Glass Artist: Chuck began blowing glass at the age of 16 in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he was born and raised. He studied fine art with an emphasis on glass at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and The California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA where he received his BFA in 1990 and promptly set up his studio. In 2011 he made the move to his new home, Myrtle Creek, Oregon. Through the years Chuck has made a name for himself making high quality, one of a kind, decorative glass. His work has been shown throughout the country as well as internationally and is in many notable collections including that of the royal family of Saudi Arabia. He has, through the years, had the honor of working alongside the very best of the Italian masters of Murano at the Pilchuck Glass School in Washington State where he has been active since 1986. Pilchuck has twice chosen Chuck as the prestigious designer of their auction centerpieces, and he has been chosen as the school's master glassblower fourteen times. Since moving to Oregon, Chuck has concentrated on making affordable one of a kind pieces. "This is the first time in my life I have made things I could actually afford" he says, "I just want to make beautiful things." Listings wanted.
