Art Brokerage: William Shepherd American Artist: b. 1943. Born in Casper, Wyoming, William Shepherd received his BA and MFA from the University of Wyoming and spent his childhood exploring the outdoors and drawing. In 1980 Shepherd moved to New Mexico and began his career painting realistic landscapes before moving into an almost pure abstract stye. Eventually he felt drawn back to realism though struggled to find the right subject. Wile traveling to Mexico, the artist collected souvenirs and crafts which he eventually began to paint in realistic still-lifes. Shepherd exhibits his paintings throughout the United States, and his work is held in international collections including, the Museum of Fine Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the Hirschhorn Collection in Washington, D.C., and the University of Wyoming Art Museum in Laramie, Wyoming.
