United StatesArt Brokerage: Thomas Maclay Hoyne American Artist: Thomas Maclay Hoyne had a naval career in the Pacific Theatre as a gunner officer. He created paintings that reflect his experience and his poetic feelings about the sea and its sailing and fishing. His greatest strength was his realistic depiction of vessels, something that he worked at meticulously. In 1983 Hoyne received the Rudolph J. Schaefer Award at the Mystic International Show. Then, in mid-life, after a cancer diagnosis, he decided to follow his love of marine art, something he did until his death in 1989. Thomas Maclay Hoyne became a founding fellow of the American Society of Marine Artists. Listings wanted by Art Brokerage.
