Christian Dalibert

Art Brokerage: Christian Dalibert French Artist: He was born in Le Havre in 1946. He studied at Ecole des Beaux-Arts du Havre and Ecole den Beaux-Arts de Munich, where he felt the freedom to explore his own renditions of format and space, less encumbered by other schools teaching classical French painting techniques. Coming of age in the turbulent 1960s, Christian Dalibert went against the grain of most of the artists of that time. His beginnings were as an Abstract Painter, weaving around his signature passing of Art Deco, eventually settling into Figurative painting. Dalibert's current work is heavily inspired by the Cubist painters. In this home in Le Havre, he hangs; Picasso, Braques and Othon Fries. His collection also includes a large number of contemporary French artists works that he collects, often bartering for paintings with works of his own. Dalibert's transition from abstraction results from a synthesis of his observations of the vibrancy of color that the Impressionists used, most particularly ringing in the shadow of influence with names such as Bonnard and Matisse. The chromatic colors in all of Dalibert's paintings correspond to the very sensitive vibrations which originate from deep inside his soul, a complete painting becomes a rendition of his dream. His flamboyant paintings, yet very tranquil, are full of sweet images of his universe and are the trademark of Christian Dalibert. They are the foundation of sensations of beauty and ecstasy going as far as (Nirvana), because we cannot look at these paintings without an inner feeling of pleasure. Dalibert converts the simple pleasures such as a woman at rest, a table full of dreams, or a bouquet of flowers in front of a window to profound statements consisting of pulsating color and light.
