Mimmo Paladino - Italy
Art Brokerage: Mimmo Paladino Italian Artist: B.1948. In 1964 Italian Artist Mimmo Paladino began studying abstract painting with the use of elements of collage at the art school in Benevent, until 1968 when he decided to continue his education alone. At that time he was enthralled with the work of the painters Max Ernst and Paul Klee. While visiting the Biennale in Venice in 1964, Paladino was impressed by the works of Claes Oldenburg and Jim Dine. From 1970 to 1973 Paladino concentrated on drawings of mythological themes. In the beginning of the 1980s Mimmo Paladino traveled several times to Brazil. His most important paticipatory exhibitions include the Biennale in Venice in 1980, in Sydney 1982, and in the same year the Documenta 7 in Kassel. Today Paladino is one among the main protagonists of the Italian Transavantgarde Clemente, Cucchi and Chia. He recently had a show at Bulgari Jewelry in Beverly Hills, Ca. Listings wanted.
