Shirley Eikhard - Canada

Art Brokerage: Shirley Eikhard Canadian Artist: Shirley Eikhard is a multi-talented singer, songwriter and musician who has been writing and singing for over 45 years. As an artist and performer, she has recorded 20 albums, won two Juno Awards, received several BMI Awards, and has toured all over Canada and parts of the world in her long career. As a songwriter, her music has been recorded by such internationally renowned artists as Bonnie Raitt (the Grammy Award winning “Something To Talk About” was written by Shirley), Cher, Ginette Reno, Emmylou Harris, Anne Murray, Cybill Shepherd, Chet Atkins, and many many more. Shirley’s love of art comes from a lifelong passion for it… she won awards for drawing and painting as early back as in Grade Two (when she was living in the Maritimes) and although she took a huge detour into music in her early teens, she never lost the obsession for creating over the years and is painting more than ever now in her 60’s. She particularly likes working in oils, because of their slow drying qualities which aids in her re-working her new ideas until they feel just right and is exploring abstract works with a newfound excitement.
