Provenance / HistoryOne is in Santa Barbara and one in Dallas. We have the original casting and have always owned it. Possibly 5 castings made. 
Story / Additional InfoThe sculpture is of an older man with a moustache leaning forward from the bench on which he sits to give a candy bar to a little girl. The man wears a jacket , sweater and casual trousers. The little girl wears a quilted outfit and holds a blanket to her face. doll lays on the bench , next to the man.

Seward Johnson, Jr. and Seward Johnson is an American artist known for his trompe l'oeil painted bronze statues, and a grandson of Robert Wood Johnson I (co-founder of Johnson & Johnson). He is best known for his life-size bronze statues, which actually are castings of living people of all ages depicting them engaged in day-to-day activities.
