Kenichi Hoshine

Kenichi Hoshine\'s beguiling, near-abstract paintings combine snippets of recognizable forms with muted geometric color fields and free-flowing gestural shapes. They evoke disparate, wide-ranging references including theatrical sets, Fauvist figuration, and Italian Futurism. The Japanese-born, New York–based artist studied at New York\'s School of Visual Arts and has since exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, and Copenhagen, among other cities. His work belongs to multiple collections, including Colección SOLO in Madrid and the Fidelity Investments Corporate Art Collection in Boston.
